Two students from the IT Weekend program proved their worth as they won 2nd runner-up in the Mindanao-Wide IT quiz held on December 6, 2007 at the NCCC Mall Activity Area. Roselee Tess Inson and Janice Pabella competed against 24 teams from different Colleges and Universities in Mindanao.
Miss Mary Ann Villaver, the coach was very grateful that her team won given the short time of preparation. She said she was the one who was really nervous as questions were given to the contestants. The questions were taken from the wide world of IT and most of it are discussed in 3rd and 4th year subjects in College. Our students were indeed tough knowing that they’re sophomores, she said.
This year’s feat was a manifestation that HCSD is at par with other schools offering IT courses in terms of IT education. Last PSITS ’06-07’ , HSCD team won 2nd runner-up over all in Sportfest, which made this year’s victory in IT quiz a back-to-back blessing to be proud of.
The basketball team this year defended their title as they emerged the Champion against arch rival STI. First timer Aladdin Gumaga also made noise when he took the Championship crown for badminton.
God is always good to the students. These achievements should serve as a challenge to the entire studentry of HCSD to do better and better each year. And let us not forget that these victories are offered to the glory of God. Let us run with the horses and play worthy of God!
